Houston, we have a good engine!

We have a good engine. 2 upper rings were stuck. One broke trying to unstick it. So a re-ring is in order. The bearings look very good.

All the cylinders look good. I'll go over them with a ball hone just to clean them up.

Here is the middle block, this is the main bearing block.

Looks like those are ballence shaft bearings. Not used on the 4.6, but I believe they are used on the smaller 4.0L Pontiac version.

The crank. That center section is for the crank pickup for the GM computer. I wish I could use this for the TEC3.

The oil pan. Still with oil and water mixed in.

This is a stifner that mounts between the bottom block and the oil pan.

I have gone over this block with a fine tooth comb.

I assembled the block to store it while I get the new parts and gaskets

I welded up the wastegate flange onto the Y. I was going to go all fancy. But gave in to simplicity.

Did a quick test fit of the adjustable strut tops for the rear. I'll have to adjust them before installing the strut tower bar.
