Day 94 - 01/16/2005

Home

Wow. Cold day. Got a lot done and had a cool visitor today.

Some reference measurements:

Turbo Intake Side In - 3.00"
Turbo Intake Side Out - 2.00"

Throttlebody inlet 3 3/8" (3.5")

Toe Control Rod - 10"

Started working on the downpipe. I first welded on a 2.5" pipe. But I am actually going to use a 3" as there is room. I may need to dent in the areas where the bolts are.

2

2

Here is the TO4 60 trim.

3

I clocked the intake housing to fit the location I'll be using.

4

4

And this is the location I am putting it in.

5

5

I get to redo the muffler. Maybe I wont use a muffler. But I sorta want to have the Camaro sound, so the muffler will most probably stay.

6

6

This is how the setup will look.

7

7

Another view .

8

The wastegate will be mounted on the Y-adaptor

1

9

oops.

2

10

Here is a better shot

3

So this whole thing will need to be modified. Good as I have a better welder now.

4

4

I cut out the frunk bottom. A new floor will be welded in later.

5

5

That frame rail at the bottom will be cut out and a new one built. It will also tie the front suspension together better. It will also allow me to use a larger Chevy aluminum radiator. I am going to tilt the rad back and have the air exit over the hood.

1

9

The bottom of the trunk is actually quite heavy. About 15 pounds worth of metal and asphalt

2

10

here is the aluminum pipe that will be used for the cooling system .

3

The strut bar .

4

4

why did I take this picture??

5

Jesse Thomas (Racer_JT) came out to the shop with his V8 Fiero. It is powered by a Caddy 4.9liter ohv engine. Jesse let me drive it. Here I am sitting in the drivers seat of a Fiero! It was a sweet ride. I was expecting a lot more top end power. But not expecting the low end grunt that car has. His engine is a completely stock engine. So that explains the lack of "make me scream like a girl" power. I bet with some simple changes power can be made. Sweet ride though!

10

He had to make some "on-the-road" repairs to the intake, they still need to be fixed. But still a great looking mod

3

Looks like the Trueleo lights.

4

4

But these mount normally.
