Day 9 - 12/28/2003

Home

It has been mentioned that I take a lot of images of the same thing. Well yes I do. But please be aware that I use a lot of these images for reference. When it start snowing here in Virginia I will have to move a lot of the work in doors. Having detailed images of the parts that are outside burried in snow can assist me in certain things.

I am having issues with sorting out a new rear suspension. I have decided to build a double A-arm type suspension. More later on this. Thanks to help on the message board!

Here is the view from the bottom.

5 on 4.5"(115mm). I am going to use these wheels - 15"x10". I like the larger spread of bolts with this setup.

10

This monster is pretty big

11

I'll be able to fit a nice set of lightweight calipers from Willwood without using adaptors.

12

This will need to be ground down. But it really depends on how I build the front suspension.

13

I like to measure

14

Completed passenger side engine mount. Yes that is Krylon. Believe me it is.

15

The start of the drivers side engine mount. Thse two mounts I have done will only support the weight of the engine. The front and rear mounts will control the engine torque.

16

The mount welded to the bracket.

17

I still need to remove some bits from the mount as the air cleaner wont fit with it the way it is.

18

Hole'sum fun Completed and primed passenger mount installed

19

I will need to remove the two bits. It was getting cold and it is my daughters birthday today, so it was an early night.

20

I need to figure out a way to put some vent material inside the scoops so little hands will stay out.

21

Humungo Caddy alternator. I will be using this monster. Just mounted where the A/C used to sit.

22

Rear bank header

23

Woo-Hoo!It needs some work. But I'll do that later after I get the engine started.

24

I need some racing pedals.

25

Looking at the mount from the inside.

26

You can see the water feed from the radiator. I'll need to get another right hand turn from one of the parts cars. The heater pipes already head that way.

27

Gotta get the Club MR2 hat in one of these pictures!

29

I bought 12 feet of schedule 40 1.25" steel conduit. Cost? $14. This will be used for the front engine mount.

The transaxle case is pretty damn close to the chassis. The rear mounts will keep it from hitting
