Day 67 - 6/20/2004

Home

Good weekend worth of work. I am putting more and more parts back in the car. The stack of parts in the kitchen is only half as big. The wife is happy.

1

1

One great day. 72 degrees. No humidity. awesome.

2

2

Mow grass... or work on car. hmmm..

3

Parts scavenged from the race car.

4

4

RSe lower front cross member.

5

5

Suspension Technique front sway bar. Goodridge Custom AW11 to AE101 front brake lines. They are 25mm longer than the typical Goodridge AW11 MR2 brake line.

6

6

I have never changed a windshield before in my life. This is the donor window. Some of you have seen this before.

7

7

The front end. Brake lines installed.

8

1992 MR2 front caliper installed. If you notice it is mounted upside down compared to the Mk2 MR2.

9

Damn bugs. Putting mud everywhere

1

10

I need to cut the bolt as it is way to long.

2

11

I need to make a bracket to hold the hose to the strut.

1

12

Steering rack bushings. High & Tight Motorsports.

2

13

Installed....

1

14

....and installed

2

15

Heater feeds. I would normally take them out. But I will have the heater working at a later date.

16

Tunnel pipes for the radiator.

4

17

Cross member installed. Grade 8 hardware.

5

18

Top pipe is the vacuum pipe for the brake booster. Cable is the throttle cable. Pipes are in and out for the radiator.

6

19

ST swaybar installed

7

20

I could not find any H&T front end links. So stock ones will do.

21

I made a heat shield to protect the fuel tank, the fuel lines and the fuel filler. It is .090 aluminum.

22

It took a collection hoses and pipes to get the angles right.

1

23

Here is the fuel tank installed.

2

24

The chassis had to be cut to fit the sub-frame. This used to be the trailing arm mount.

25

Same here.

4

26

This is the old "Triangle" suspension mount. It will now be used as a rear engine mount.

5

27

I installed the belt tensioner.

6

28

engine shot. It is done, and ready to install. well I am waiting for the oil pressure sender. But other than that it is complete.

7

29

awesome.

30

too bad this view will be blocked by the firewall.

31

The mess of wires will be integrated with the AW11 harness soon.
