Day 64 - 6/17/2004

Home

Rain.... freaking rain! and bucket loads of it. I swear I saw a cat and dog or two fall from the heavens! I tried to work on the car itself in between the showers, but as soon as I stepped out it would pour. It sucked. So I did some stuff indoors, or at least under the cover of the rear deck.

On a side note I would like to welcome all of our visitors from down under! Let me tell you that when FeralMR2 says that he is rooting for the BoostMuncher, he really, secretly wants the V8 to win... oh yes he does :)

And a good hello to the Ford Crown Vic Message Board... Hey turbodiesel.. you should really do some research before you make statements like you did.

Thanks again for all the emails of support and thank you for the kind words following the loss of my father in-law.

Please remember -- It does not matter what car we drive, what engines we love to tune, or what manufacture we support.. it is all about the love of the "build".

1

1

I welded up the seat belt bar for the passenger seat.

2

2

1992 MR2 Turbo front calipers. twin piston. Not as fancy as my RX7 versions. But these bolt right on.

3

Very clean.

4

4

I ordered the 1992 rotors today from Rock Auto.

5

5

These will accept my Goodridge brake lines.

6

6

Hey... what are these? I bet Aly could use a few of these babies!

7

7

And this job I have been dreading. Making a bushing to center the wheel on the bolt.

8

It was actually quite easy. The hole is 25mm wide. I used a slice of chromoly pipe and a sliver of steel pipe. This was hammered into place and some little welds were done to hold it all together. It was actually quite easy.

9

And I spin this baby and it is perfect! Oh the glory of having the proper tools!

1

10

A nice coat of Krylon and the world is good again... except for the damn run. Why the hell can't I paint anything without getting a damn run?
