Day 60 - 6/06/2004

Home

Lots done today. weee... and I thought I would be done by Christmas 2003. I thought that this would be cheap and easy. Well it has not! Not even close. 60 days. I am averaging 6 hours a day working on this car. That is about 360 hours worth of work. Now all I basically have to do is put the car back together again.

1

Man that is one big lump.

2

I removed the cam cover once it was out of the car, cleaned it and painted it. Today I reinstalled the seals and bolted it back on. Installed the Accell U-Groove spark plus set at .50mm.

3

Installed the transmission cooler line.

4

4

I will need to do a Lowes run tp get some new fittings for the transmission oil cooler.

Here is the cover installed.

6

I need to redo the crankcase vents. I am not happy with them

I'll mount the DFU's the other way.

I wonder of Electromotive has the stickers for the 3 and 4 coil.

Spark plug wires fed underneath the mount.

22

I like it better with the wire being run under the cover. Just looks cleaner.

23

I held a contest on the MR2OC.com message board to see who could come up with a winning design for a logo. Well, here is it...

Congrats to Rick Manship. Now I have to get it made.

2

24

Front of the engine with the air filter installed.

25

Backside of the engine.

4

26

Throttlebody completed. I just need to redu the fuel feeds for the injectors.

5

27

Throttle position sensor installed and connected.

6

28

The air temp sensor is installed. I need to find a plug for the other hole there.

7

29

Yes I know the axles came apart. I need to get to Cadillac and get the proper straps. I purchased an assortment of straps, but they are too small. Yes, I will clean them and repack them as there is water in them now.

The oil cooler adaptor installed.
