Day 48 - 4/17/2004

Home

Temps in the 80s and the ski was clear. Great day!

1

1

Energy Suspension 21mm urethane swaybar mounts

2

2

The Cadillac swaybar, painted RSe Plum. Problem is that the damn thing wont friggen fit! The modified sub-frame is in the way. So I am going to have to use a NASCAR style bar.

3

Got the rear JDM Camry bumper from JARCO. Only problem with that statement is that Camry's are built in America and shipped to Japan. I laughed pretty hard at that when I read the JDM bit on the JARCO e-Bay ad. But for $1 I could not beat it. I will cut out the license plate section and graft it into the AW11 bumper.

4

4

This is the overflow from Toyota Leven front clip, it is small and will fit well it the rear of the car.

5

5

This is the right rear suspension. This was the job today. Get the rear suspension completed.

6

6

This is the lower control arm. All painted up ready to install.

7

7

New ball joint installed.

8

The toe control rod welded in and bolted down with grade 8 hardware.

9

When I pulled the axles out I over extended the tripods on both axles. I had to take them apart and line the bearings up again.

1

10

This is the engine side. Green grease.

2

11

Of course as I install the axle the nylon tie wraps I was using to hold the rubber boot in place slip off. I will replace them with proper metal bands later.

12

The bolt installed on the axle. It is now 100% in. I needed to modify the threads a bit with a grinder as they got messed up a bit.

4

13

I drilled out the strut housing to accept the thicker 1987 bolts. the struts are from a 1986 MR2 and house Koni adjustable inserts.

1

14

I painted them RSe Plum. Why? Just to be different.Gotta have some cheasy bling~bling ya know!

2

15

New lower control arm bushings and bolt.

12

I lost the bolt to the trailing arm. I'll get this from the farm store next week.

1

13

Nice angle with the suspension at 100% extended

2

14

I had to do a paint run. So I picked up some transmission oil, and some antifreeze. I also picked up some rice. Gotta love the fast and the furious. That is why I bought these really cool breathers! The best movie ever!

Of course guys I am kidding. I needed some sort of filter. And these will work until I can afford to get the pretty one.

15

Here is the beather attached to a Ford plastic adaptor. Fits perfect.

1

16

Here is the front of the engine with the other breather installed.

2

17

I picked up some rubber covers for the empty vacuum lines.

18

Covered here as well.

1

19

Here is the suspension compressed.

2

20

I don't know if I am going to be able to get enough rear camber. I may need to redo the strut tops and make the rear adjustable.

21

I like the colors.

1

22

Today I had 32 tons of gravel dropped off. I also blew up the purple cars 16v engine. I think I blew a cam belt. But fear not, I have a few spare engines.
