Day 40 - 3/14/2004

Home

The images are a bit out of order. I hit the wrong buttons a few times on the camera.

1

1

I finished cutting off the drivers side fender.

2

2

Good aero?

3

I can mount the air filter and the transmission cooler in here as air is going to flow through the side pud.

4

4

I fit the engine cover on with the spark plug wires.

5

5

I installed the AW11 MR2 rear chassis wiring harness.

6

6

MR2 vented rotors The plug wires will be bundled through the access hole.

7

7

Here is the positive cable that leads to the starter. The starter fits in the valley below the intake manifold. I have attached a crimp connector. I will connect a new piece of 4 gauge wire to run to the battery positive up in the front trunk. I will get a spool of wire this week at NAPA.

8

This is the subframe from a jap-spec AE101 Corolla. That is a 1" swaybar with a short end link attached to the lower control arm. My H&T swaybar is in the way of the exhaust system. Moving the swaybar to the subframe would fix this. Using the AE101 endlink and a custom lower control mount will be just the ticket.

9

Attached a Taylor ground strap. Six of these will be used on the engine and chassis.

1

10

1" AE101 sway bar. It is for sale. $40 +shipping.

2

11

That is the AW11 MR2 chassis fuse and circuit box. This will integrated with the TEC3 and TCU computers.

12

AE101 subframe

4

13

I cut the engine harness connectors for the starter and charging circuits. This attached to the AW11 chassis harness. I will be able to use the key to start the car.

1

14

I am in need of the upper windshield trim.

2

15

This harness supplies power to the automatic stick, e-brake sensor.

12

I found a batter hold down clamp I had never used. I just need one 10" hold down bolt.

1

13

The drivrs side footwell fuse panel.

2

14

85mm throttlebody inlet

15

This is the fuel pump harness connector.

1

16

95mm K&N filter inlet

2

17

The automatic shifter. A stock MR2 model with ECT button. I think I can use that button as a switch to have the car get great mileage, or max power. I will have to check with the TCU maker.

18

Left side

1

19

Right side

2

20

3 1/2" end link

21

See those two holes where the license plate goes? Wouldn't two 3" exhaust pipes look good coming out of there? Flames shooting out.

1

22

I sent an email to FX Designs asking them is they can make me a custom front spoiler of my design.
