Day 23 - 1/21/2004

Home

Been really busy working on the main MR2 Message Board. We needed to do some upgrades and bring a server online. The weather has also turned really cold again. The family needed tended to, and my real job has been needing some attention.

I have also been busy doing parts research. I found the suspension components I need. I'll get those on pay day. I have also discovered a transaxle controller. This will work in combination with the Electromotive TEC3 system. I will now have paddle shifting, laptop programmable ecu, and traction control / LSD. I have the TEC3 and Troy is sending out another coil pack (DFU). I am knee deep into the install book. I will start installing the system this week.

So why have I decided to go with an aftermarket ECU package? Well the stock system is great for the Cadillac. But with a speed limit of 112 mph, well, I would get killed on the quarter mile scene. The Boostmonger would certainly beat me. There were also issues with the stock ECU wanting to have readings from parts of the car that I did not have. I have also been asked to have my car as a technical feature by the editor of Sport Compact National magazine. So with that in mind we are taking no chances in the performance department. I have done a lot of research on the Pontiac Fiero and Cadillac forums to know that the engine would run, just not to the Northstar's full potential. This wont be plug and play, it will require some dyno time. But I will know that I will have a top notch system!
