Day 22 - 1/18/2004

Home

The weather finally got warm enough for me to leave the warmth of my easy chair and central heating. Damn it was a cold week! More is expected.

So today I was going to weld up the brackets for the toe control rod. But after mocking it up I could not figure out how to keep the suspension from toeing in under rebound and compression. Dave Ligon explained to me how it should work So I need to review my design and modify it. So I started work on the electrical stuff.

1

1

Lots of wire. All of the Cadillac body harness. 3 sections.

2

2

This part hooks to the headlights and back into the car. Some parts go to the ABS also

3

These are the bits that were in the trunk. Unfortunately this car did not have OnStar. So no phoning for diagnostic help.

My wire bit.

7

7

Fuse box.

8

This is the diode that allows the car to start when you insert the correct key with the correct resistor. I am told that there are only 15 different resistors. So Radio Shack here I come!

9

These are the important parts I will need.

10

This is not

2

11

Relay box that was in the trunk.

12

This is a lot of wire. Very good wire, that will be reused

4

13

This is the diagnostic plug. This will be rewired closer to the ECU in the rear trunk.

1

14

I have no clue what this relay is. But I will find out once I dig into the wiring diagrams and start laying down the Toystar plans in Microsoft Visio.

another fuse box .

This sits in the Caddy engine bay

17

This is on the same bit of plastic

18

Hmmm. Look what I have. If all else fails..

1

19

Some boxes that were in the trunk, I still don't know what they are

2

20

The middle part is the anti-theft computer, it works with the key. This will be reused. The one on the left is the radio for the door locks and alarm system.

21

This plugs into the engine harness
